Northamptonshire has ambition by the bucket load

Northamptonshire has ambition by the bucket load; and the implementation of superfast broadband (SB) is high on the agenda.

Providing access to this technological marvel will be no mean feat but Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) is on the case having declared their determination to provide all businesses and homes with SB by 2017.

Around 53,000 Northamptonshire homes and businesses will be connected to SB as a result of a local investment plan.  The Superfast Northamptonshire project that’s part-funded by BT, NCC and the Government's BDUK will ensure that 50,000 homes and 3,000 businesses will have access to superfast speeds by the end of 2015.

The county council’s cabinet member for infrastructure and public protection, Councillor Andre Gonzalez De Savage, said recently that ensuring the availability of SB right across Northamptonshire is essential for the county to compete in the global digital economy.
